Just in case you’re caught at home wondering what you can do to pass the time, here’s a list of films that, if you haven’t seen, you should, and if you have you might want to watch again. There’s something for everyone. All of these are streaming right now and we’ll post more later, if need be.

Netflix

Silver Linings Playbook (Bradley and Jennifer) Starts streaming March 16 –  A rom-com with a mental health twist.

The Interview  – Stupid fun with Franco and Rogan. This comedy created an international incident. (Don’t tell Kim it’s back.)

The Shawshank Redemption – Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman star in the classic prison buddy drama.

There Will Be Blood – Stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Paul Dano,  and Ciarán Hinds.  Brilliant but not for the faint of heart.

Tootsie – The classic comedy where Dustin Hoffman walks a mile in her shoes.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Begins streaming March 16 — Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy star in this  engaging Cold War espionage thriller.

And the series ‘Self Made: Inspired By The Life of Madam C.J. Walker’ starts streaming: March 20 It’s all about Madam C.J. Walker, America’s first female self-made millionaire, the daughter of recently freed slaves, who made a fortune by creating hair-care products for black women. Starring Octavia Spencer, Blair Underwood and Tiffany Haddish.

 

Hulu

Good Will Hunting (1997)  Robin Williams, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck. A classic!  It got Damon and Affleck an Oscar.

Natural Born Killers (1994) Tarantino wrote it. Oliver Stone directed. Starring Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis. A couple on a cross country murder spree become enamored of the media attention it brings them.  Definitely not for the squeamish.

Up in the Air (2009) Stars George Clooney, Anna Kindrick, and Vera Farmiga in this award winning dramedy about downsizing.

Wayne’s World (1993) Classic dumb comedy if you’re feeling nostalgic.

Waiting to Exhale (1995) A classic sisterhood flick! It stars Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett.

 

HBO

Fight Club  – Don’t talk about it, just watch.  Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

Mr and Mrs Smith The assassin comedy/actioner that broke up Brad and Jen and gave us Brangelina.

The Favourite is leaving at the end of the month. It’s the perfect thing to take your mind off whatever is happening out there.

Match Point  Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Emily Mortimer star in this Oscar nominated Woody Allen romantic thriller.

Looking for a series? ‘The Plot Against America’  is a 6-part series imagining America where the 1940 presidential election was won by Charles A. Lindbergh on the Republican ticket, rather than Franklin D. Roosevelt.
