A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

It seems way too early for a “Christmas” movie, but to release A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas any later would be like re-releasing Bambi on opening day of deer hunting season.
Super 8

Super 8 is a blast from the past – especially for those of us who, um, grew up in the 1970s.
Source Code

Don’t be scared away by talk of quantum mechanics, complex mathematical equations, and computer source codes. You don’t have to understand any of that to enjoy this movie (trust me, I know). Source Code is a bit like Groundhog Day meets Speed meets Inception meets 24. It’s a sci-fi thriller that takes place primarily on a commuter train that is – literally- about to explode.
Salt

Salt is an action-packed spy thriller that keeps you engaged and entertained, but doesn’t really break any new ground. Angelina Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who goes on the run when she’s accused of being a Russian spy. Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor play federal agents in hot pursuit of Salt, who may or may not be a bad guy. I mean, girl.
Toy Story 3

I took my nephew to see Toy Story 2 back in 1999. He was three years old, and loved the movie (as much as a three-year-old can. He was a tad squirmy back then but the movie definitely resonated with him, and me.) Fast-forward ELEVEN (!!) years, and we returned to the same theater for Toy Story 3. And thank goodness, this Pixar sequel did not disappoint. Like the original Toy Story, and its first sequel Toy Story 2… Toy Story 3 is more than just a good animated movie. It’s a good movie period. That’s because it works on so many levels, for kids and adults, with a great ensemble cast, a relatable story, humor, poignancy, action.
Amelia

The new biopic on the life and times of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart doesn’t crash and burn. But it doesn’t soar either. It just sort of taxis on the runway, gets some occasional lift, and glides back down again. Not the most exciting ride. And that’s disappointing, especially when you consider her remarkable story.
