Dumb and Dumber To is truly stupid. If you have a problem with that, don’t go! However, if you’re a fan of the original Dumb and Dumber – and haven’t matured all that much since 1994 – then go, and embrace the stupidity. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their roles as blissfully dimwitted pals, Lloyd and Harry. They haven’t changed much in 20 years. No ‘character growth’ here. And that’s just the way they like it.
The original film’s directors, Peter and Bobby Farrelly are back at the helm for the sequel, which sees Lloyd and Harry hitting the road to find the child that Harry didn’t know about – until he went through a box of old mail at his parents’ house.
The child’s mother is a self-described ‘titanic whore’ named Frieda Felcher (Kathleen Turner) who tells the guys that she had a baby daughter that was raised by some sort of genius who is about to get some big award.
Harry ends up impersonating said genius, and all sorts of craziness ensues. It’s gross. It’s stupid. It’s the definition of mindless entertainment – times to.
The trailer pretty much says it all:
