Clara and I recently completed our documentary, O Pioneer and would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to have you or your team review it on your preferred platforms (Your website, Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, etc.). The film doesn’t have many official reviews yet, which is likely important for credibility and audience interest. If you have any other thoughts or advice on gaining reviews, we’d appreciate your insights as well.
In its festival run, O Pioneer won the audience award at Cinequest and was jury nominated for best documentary at Richmond. It won the jury nominated Sylvia Award at Rome International, and the Jack Spadaro Documentary Award from the Appalachian Studies Association. It also won a Webby for best trailer this morning.
Our cast and crew fit within underrepresented voices. The film is directed by Clara, an Appalachian/Southern woman, and me, a Latino. We’re from rural West Virginia, as are the participants in the film, and the story includes LGBTQ themes. We practiced inclusivity in front of and behind the camera.
We’d love to send you a screener if you’re at all interested. Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you,
